The SOCIETY Newsletter Features 21 Golf Club
The SOCIETY Newsletter is a long-form newsletter that focuses on “The History of the Royal Game.” The Royal Game is, of course, golf. The newsletter covers course architects, changes in modern-day golf and dives deeply into the game’s historical roots.
In the first of its two-part expose about Dr. Alister MacKenzie, the famed golf course designer who laid out Augusta National Golf Club with Bobby Jones, The SOCIETY Newsletter discusses El Boquerón, which is perhaps Dr. MacKenzie’s most intriguing and ambitious project that dates back almost 100 years. The design was developed for a wealthy family in Argentina. Unfortunately, for several reasons, the course was never built.
In the second of its two-part feature, the newsletter features Wes Farrell’s new private club, the 21 Golf Club, which is being built near Aiken, South Carolina, not far across the Savannah River from Augusta National. With multiple courses to eventually open for the enjoyment of 21 Golf Club members, the first course to be built will follow the spirit of Dr. MacKenzie’s El Boquerón design. We hope you’ll enjoy reading this two-part story in The SOCIETY Newsletter.

Newsletter #68 – How Wes Farrell and the 21 Golf Club is interpreting this “lost” design in the modern-day sand hills of South Carolina.
